WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A PLASTIC BUMPER AND A BUMPER COVER? IS YOURS AN ACTUAL REPLACEMENT BUMPER OR A COVER THAT GOES OVER THE ORIGINAL BUMPER?
The bumper used to be obvious - that great big chrome-plated steel thing on the front and rear of the car. Nowadays, it is less clear. There is still a metal bumper but you can’t see it because it is covered by a plastic bumper fascia which is commonly referred to as a “bumper cover” because it "covers" the metal “bumper” that is underneath. So what you are calling a "plastic bumper" is what the industry calls a "bumper cover." Two names for the same part.

ARE YOUR BUMPERS MADE OF URETHANE OR ARE THEY MADE OF FIBERGLASS?
The answer is neither. Fiberglass is a completely unacceptable material for a bumper. The first time you touch a parking block it will crack and break - OEM bumpers were NEVER made from fiberglass. Urethane is a short name for Polyurethane Plastic. Polyurethane Plastic is old technology. It was phased out in 1995 and replaced with Thermoplastic Polyolefin (TPO) Plastic. TPO is recyclable, easier to produce, costs less, and weighs 1/3 less than Polyurethane. Nowadays, OEM bumpers are pretty much all made from TPO plastic. Our bumpers are injection molded from TPO plastic ... same as the OEM bumpers. The Internet is filled with wrong information about urethane bumpers and mold release agents ... we don't know why this misinformation persists ... it has not been accurate for 20 years.

IS A PLASTIC BUMPER COVER EASY TO INSTALL? DO I NEED A PROFESSIONAL TECHNICIAN?
Installing a bumper cover is really simple - using basic hand tools you take out a few fasteners and it practically falls off by itself. The average weight is 10.5 pounds so it’s not heavy to work with. There may be a few snaps and clips holding it on, so just take your time and you'll be fine. To put the new one back on, you just reverse the procedure reusing the fasteners that came off. It is typically a 5 to 15 minute job to take it off and 5 to 15 minutes to put the new one on. If your car has fog lights or side marker lights in the bumper cover, unplug them first (look underneath and you will see the wires and the plug), then remove the bumper cover. There are probably 2 or 3 screws holding each lamp in, so remove the lamps and then, reusing the old screws, put them into your new cover, then install the new cover onto the car. Plug in the lamps and you’re done. A few vehicles can be more complicated and you might have to take a few extra steps but most are pretty simple to remove and replace. If you just go look at your vehicle, you will be able to see for yourself how difficult it might be.

DO BUMPER COVERS COME WITH THE SCREWS AND CLIPS TO INSTALL?
Bumper covers are not supplied with mounting hardware. We don't sell hardware. Most automotive fasteners are common items and sold at Ace Hardware or in the hardware aisle at Home Depot. The odd fasteners are sold at automotive paint stores (don't ask me why, it's a tradition that developed years ago) or of course, at the parts dept. in the new car dealerships.

WHAT COLOR IS THIS PART?
Original Fit by AutoLign® bumpers and bumpers covers are new parts and have not yet been painted. They must be painted to match the color of your vehicle.
Some parts have the color molded into the plastic and a textured finish, also molded into the plastic. Textured/Molded-in-color parts are ready to install "as is" and do not require painting. They will be identified with a description such as "textured/gray" for example. In those cases, our part has the correct color plastic and the correct texture so it matches your original part.

CAN YOU PAINT THIS PART TO MATCH THE BODY COLOR OF MY VEHICLE?
Sorry, no. Any body shop can paint it for you.

CAN I SAVE THE FREIGHT CHARGES AND PICK IT UP AT YOUR WAREHOUSE?
Yes. Order the part online and select "Customer Pickup at Detroit Warehouse". We will contact you by email to schedule your pickup at our distributor's location conveniently located in Oak Park, MI at I-696 Expressway and Coolidge Highway.

I WANT TO PURCHASE MORE THAN ONE ITEM. CAN YOU BUNDLE THEM INTO A SINGLE PACKAGE TO REDUCE THE FREIGHT CHARGES?
Usually, no, because bumpers are so large and irregularly shaped they don't nest together well and will be damaged during shipping. But it is sometimes possible. Please contact us first, before ordering, and we will tell you if the parts can be bundled together for shipment. Then we can quote you the freight cost for the bundle (which is usually about the same as shipping a single item).

I DON'T SEE WHAT I WANT ON YOUR WEBSITE. CAN YOU SPECIAL ORDER IT FOR ME?
Sorry, no. What is in stock in our warehouse is what is displayed on the website. If it's not on our website, we don't have it.

I'M IN CANADA AND I SEE THAT IT SAYS YOU DON'T SHIP TO CANADA. CAN YOU SHIP TO ME IN CANADA ANYWAY?
